Learn from anywhere

St Stithians College is a proudly South African school, embracing diversity and offering a distinctive educational experience.

Our College consists of primary and secondary boys’ and girls’ schools, together with a co-educational junior primary school. We are an independent institution located on an expansive green campus in Sandton, Johannesburg. In addition, St Stithians incorporates Kamoka Bush School near Modimolle, and the Thandulwazi Maths & Science Academy on our campus.

To provide more diversity of educational opportunities, the College has opened its eighth school, in collaboration with Valenture Institute.

St Stithians Online High School (SSOS) provides choice without compromise as our high school learners now have the option to study from anywhere, while still being part of the Saints community.

Supported all the way

Our innovative online school environment is unique in that high school learners study an internationally-recognised curriculum accredited by Pearson Edexcel, are able to interact with classmates and teachers in live and engaging zoom classes, and receive excellent technical support and assistance from our team, faculty of teachers and dedicated mentors.

Learners graduate as well-rounded individuals, well prepared to inspire excellence and make a difference both in our own country, the African continent and globally.

We truly seek to create a community of belonging among students, staff and parents, both in the present and through strong links with their alumni and past parents.

Head's message

"I am passionate about education and how it has the ability to transform lives. I feel that the adoption of technology into educational spaces will only make education more accessible, more equitable and ultimately play a huge role in shaping our next generation."

Tessa Venter is a dynamic and adaptable educator with teaching experience in both international and local contexts. She recently had the opportunity to be the founding head of a new school catering for students from 18 months to 18 years. This gave her a sound and broad understanding of education in a South African environment. Tessa, herself, completed her IGCSEs and AS studies and understands, from both student and teacher perspective, the benefit of such a qualification.

She is an English, Drama, and global perspectives teacher who prides herself on implementing sound academic principles in unique ways that met the needs of each student.

Tessa has grown up on independent school campuses across Southern African and has also been privileged enough to attend some incredible schools.

Born in Zimbabwe, she has lived in Mahikeng, the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, Cape Town, Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) and South Korea. She holds degrees in journalism (specialising both in television production as well as health reporting) and well as education. Tessa is married to Adriaan and they have a little girl, Charlotte, who is one.
